Friends of Great Art,
Thank you for visiting the official Ivan Garikow online gallery.
Here you will find an enormous amount of information about Ivan Garikow - the man, his work, and his heritage. Ivan's difficult life is reflected in his art, and to understand his art you must journey with him through his life.
Five sections make up this site:
- The Eurisko Art Foundation information includes this letter of introduction, some general information regarding the Foundation, and a listing of Garikow's posthumous achievements.
- Ivan's Biography is broken into two parts, each representing a critical period in Ivan's life. Placed at the bottom of each chapter are three of Ivan's paintings that visually complement the theme within the text of the page.
- Garikow's Gallery of art allows you to view his paintings which are organized into seven easy to understand genres highlighting more than 200 works. You will notice that placed throughout the gallery are a few paintings with commentaries which are designated with a red star. In time, more commentaries will be added.
- The Lost Collection is short narrative of how Ivan's lifetime collection of paintings which had been missing for over 20 years was discovered.
- The Contact Page provides you with an opportunity to communicate with me. I am curious what drew you to our site. Was it casual browsing? Do you own a Garikow original? Are you researching Russian art? Or were you referred to this site? Please tell me.
On a personal note, I am anxious to learn as much information as I can about Ivan's life in Russia, Austria and/or Philadelphia, PA. If you have any information about Garikow or know the whereabouts of other Garikow originals, please let me know.
I would like to photograph and catalogue all Garikow originals and have them included in the Garikow Gallery. This will authenticate the piece and add to its value for the owner.
We know some originals were copied. If you have a Garikow and want to have it authenticated just take a hi-resolution image (digital picture) of the work and a close up of the signature and forward them to me directly.
I encourage you to send your thoughts, questions, and/or comments to me using the Contact Page available here. And we encourage everyone who visits our website to sign our guestbook. Thank you for your interest in the Garikow Collection.
